Prison Ministry is an opportunity to see Christ in a new and powerful way. We discover the truth of His words:
For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Matthew 25:35-36
Our position on God's team is to plant and water, sharing His love and compassion with others. But we may not always get to reap the harvest. We may not always get to see the result of a sinner turning his or her heart to Christ. We may not always see dramatic changes in the person's spirtual growth.
But we can be sure that as we are faithful to follow God's call, He will use us. He has called us to express His love and forgiveness, through our lives and our words. But God is responsible for the results in people's lives.
Prison Fellowship is a fellowship of men and women who, motivated by their love for the Lord Jesus Christ and in obedience to His commands, have joined together to exhort and assist His church in the prisons and in the community, in its ministries t prisoners, ex-prisoners, victims, and the families involved, and to promote biblical standards of justice in the criminal justice system.
