COMMITMENT ISSUE                FALL 2000

This is a special issue of "The Groundbreaker" ....

This issue is dedicated to the subjects of: self-examination & commitment. Prayerfully and hopefully these pages will lead you to not only seriously reconsider your position as a Levite, but also to examine your "worship-life" as a whole. Much will be presented for you to ponder. Please take time to read this issue--- ask yourself the necessary questions and pray for God to help you to be honest with yourself.

It's me, It's me, It's me Oh Lord ....

Self-examination is a difficult task. It must be tackled with sincerity and honesty or it is of no use. You must look deep inside those places that only you and God know, To understand your place in the service of the Lord, it is of the utmost importance to examine yourself...

You must first and foremost consult God. He is the "placement" expert in His kingdom. He knows where you belong in His employ. You must not be driven by your desires or selfish ambition. God knows, as you do, your strengths and weaknesses.

I'm on the right job---I love my job!!

The job of a Levite is an important one/ It is not merely "singing in the choir", as our Pastor has reiterated from the pulpit. It is a MINISTRY. Our responsibility is not to be taken lightly but, with the seriousness it was given by God when he incorporated music into His worship services.

There is character and capabilities a Levite must possess in order to do to the job he is called to do. This is not a "glamorous and high profile" position, as some mistakenly believe. It is a position that requires work, God-given ability and character that has been developed by the Holy Ghost.
